Each year there’s a selection of show’s around the world that bring together the best in green furniture design. I know what you’re probably thinking, ‘green furniture design, what’s that? A tree stump or something?’
If you are thinking that, prepare to be educated… Some of the designs that have come out of this year’s first such exhibition – IMM Cologne – are totally awesome.
Our friends over at Treehugger have put together some of their favourite ‘highlights’ in the form of a slide show. A personal favourite of ours is Lite2go pendant and table light, from San Francisco-based Knoend. They manage to do away with the need for packaging by integrating it in the light as the shade. It runs on an energy-efficient 7w CFL bulb, hemp twine is utilized for construction and the instructions are made from recycled paper, and it looks great as well.
IMM Cologne had over 1000 companies from 49 countries showing off their wears. Have a look at some of the best on Treehugger and let us know what you think in our comments, or discuss them by starting a topic in our boards!
