The inaugural Green Awards take place this evening (29th November) at London’s prestigious Guildhall.
The awards have been created to recognise excellent creative work that illustrates and communicates the importance of corporate social responsibility, sustainable development, and ethical best practice.
Nominees will be crossing their fingers for gongs in such categories including best TV advertisement, best PR campaign and best use of art direction.
The shortlist features both governmental, non governmental and corporate campaigns including the likes of the Greater London Authority, Friends of the Earth and Asda.
Global Cool’s putting its money on ethical fashion website, stylewillsaveus.com, which is up for the best use of copy award. We think they’re ace, check them out if you get a chance.
Guest speakers will include Eric Falt - director of communications and public information from the United Nations Environment Programme, Philip Sellwood - chief executive of the Energy Saving Trust, and Tony Juniper - director of Friends of the Earth.
Ian Pearson MP, Minister of State for Climate Change and the Environment who will be presenting the “Grand Prix” at the awards, said of the event: “I’m delighted to be presenting the Grand Prix at the inaugural Green Awards. I look forward to the opportunity to see and reward some of the best examples of communications that promote and encourage sustainable actions and behaviour.”
