In addition to making the recording and manufacture of their latest album carbon-neutral, Kaiser Chiefs have announced that they will be appearing as part of the second ‘Green Apple Music & Arts Festival’, which is set to take place take place across Chicago, New York and San Francisco next month.
The event marking ‘Earth Day’ will span the three cities from the 20th-22nd April, with over 80 venues hosting 150 concerts.
This year’s festival will be the US’s largest ever carbon-neutral event. All cups, straws, napkins and paper towels will be made of recycled materials, and compostable garbage bags and biodegradable cleaner will be used to ensure the event is entirely eco-friendly.
“The core idea of the Green Apple Festival is to bring together all generations to raise awareness of Earth Day.” Said Executive Producer of the festival, Peter Shapiro.
“By including a diverse roster of artists from the US and beyond, we hope to promote a healthy, sustainable environment not just for our audiences here, but for people around the world,” he continued.
Other acts set to join the Kaiser Chiefs on the bill include The Decemberists, Electric Six, and Massive Attack collaborator, Mad Professor.
