John Travolta reckons we should consider moving to outer space in an effort to beat global warming. Perhaps the star of ‘Grease’ could fly us there in one of his five private jets.
Speaking this week at the premiere of his latest film, ‘Wild Hogs’, the 53 year-old told the Daily Mail: “[Global warming] is a very valid issue. I’m wondering if we need to think about other planets and dome cities.” Said Travolta.
“Everyone can do their bit. But I don’t know if it’s not too late already. We have to think about alternative methods of fuel.” Added the actor before gunning a Harley Davidson down the Leicester Square red carpet.
The high-flying high-profile Scientologist currently owns five private planes – a customised £2million Boeing 707, three Gulfstream jets and a Lear jet – that he keeps at the bottom of his garden (pictured) next to a private runway.

Attempting to justify his indulgent collection, the actor who once sang: “I’ve got chills, they’re multiplying” said of the planet’s warming: “I’m probably not the best candidate to ask about global warming because I fly jets. I use them as a business tool though, as others do. I think it’s part of this industry.”
Over the past 12 months the aircraft obsessive, whose 14-year old son is called Jett, is estimated to have run up around 800 tonnes of CO2 emissions from his flights alone.
According to a recent study conducted by the UK’s Carbon Trust, Travolta’s mammoth size carbon footprint is over 70 times that of the average Briton, who currently churns out just under 11 tonnes of CO2 per year.
He wanted to call his daughter Qantas. Seriously.
