Oscar winning actress Cate Blanchett is doing her bit for climate change: she’s cutting back on washing her hair.
The Australian thespian recently installed 30 timers throughout her home to remind her not to run the water for too long.
“I actually have little races with myself,” said the 38 year-old actress. “Thinking oh no I’m not washing my hair, I only need to have a two-minute shower.”
In further efforts to reduce her personal carbon footprint, the star has reduced the miles she drives every week to just 20km (12 miles) and has switched her energy supplier to one that only provides power from renewable sources.
Blanchett, who is currently filming the fourth instalment of the Indiana Jones films, has lent her support to the Australian Conservation Foundation’s new online campaign, ‘Who On Earth Cares’.
The initiative aims to collate the thoughts and actions of Australians on the issue of global warming, while keeping a tally of the total savings in CO2 emissions the campaign has produced.
“I’m extremely concerned about climate change as a mother,” said Blanchett, a mother of two. “Because I want to ensure for my children a very safe and sustainable future.”

Perhaps CB can cut back to just one sheet of toilet paper a day like Sheryl Crowfeet.
This is a S C A M , that is assuming you use donated funds to make payroll with. If you people were sincere about this, you’d travel to China and get a grip. By comparison, the UK doesn’t pollute much at all…
