Global Coolers were out in force at Shaggy’s pre-Mobo Party last night, in support of Stop Trashing Our Planet (STOP).
London’s Crystal nightclub was transformed into a boudoir to showcase the official London Fashion Week shows of designers Yes Master Lingerie and Eternal Spirits, as well as luxury swimwear from Aguaclara and lingerie from Valery Lingerie.
Burlesque dancers including Miss Gwendoline Lamour wowed the crowd before Shaggy’s appearance on stage.
And the award-winning, diamond-selling artist didn’t disappoint, performing old favourites as well as a selection of songs from his aptly-titled new album Intoxication.
The event was presented by Fashion TV, who invited party-goers to tell FTV viewers to ‘stop trashing our planet’ in support of STOP.
STOP is an entertainment and marketing platform for environmental re-education, which has developed a series of initiatives to fight global warming, including a software programme to analyse the impact of business on the environment.
Intoxication will be released in the UK on 8th October.
I went to this party and neither global cool or STOP were mentioned all night, and its a shame - these issues were far more important than a pretty bad fashion show in a club. Get it right Global Cool

John, FTV filmed people and asked them to talk about the planet - and Shaggy even performed a song to that effect.
Perhaps you’d had one too many Mojitos

I think that this night was about wasting a lot of energy… and a lot was made about global cool two months ago but the message and the presence were definately not here.
No message no education, no leaflets, no posters - just outrageously priced drinks - £15 a spirit and a legs up with some didgy models in truly awful underwear surrounded by people congratulating themselves. No thought. Wrong image, wrong location, dissapointing night.
Sorry Shaggy, love ya but wrong place, wrong time raggamuffin with wrong crowd. Same old faces who are out every night being hypocritical at another mediocre london club.
Global cool is about saving the environment - something is seriously wrong if you thought this was worthwhile.
Take notice Global Cool directors, your message is seriously going down the drains with these guys running the show. Awful frivolous, boring, effortlessly dull ….. hey Sam? A mojito is traditionally made of five ingredients: spearmint, rum, sugar (traditionally sugar cane juice), lime, and carbonated water. This night the only thing being served was sewage straight from the the street… mmmm, maybe you think that’s a mojito? Oh and I had too much of it…
I was disappointed along with most of the attendees. Get the serious message across with the harcore partying guys.

Hi John,
Thank you for your comments.
The party was not a Global Cool event - no time, money or effort was invested in the evening. It was a showcase for Shaggy’s new album and a platform for London Fashion Week.
Global Cool’s campaign is positive and solutions-based - this was an opportunity to support a small campaign by the name of STOP, and reach out to people often assumed to be indifferent to a campaign such as ours.
We believe the night was a success.
All the best,
Editor,
Global Cool
