We are officially among the most powerful players in London, according to the Evening Standard’s list of the 1000 most influential people in the city.

The 1000: London’s Most Influential People lists the top 50 people in 20 categories, including ‘Fashion’, ‘Running London’ and ‘Politics’.

Supermodel Kate Moss topped the fashion category, with Gordon Brown, somewhat predictably, leading the world of politics.

But the purpose of the glossy publication is not merely to list London’s rich and famous. Instead, the list also aims to showcase the capital’s most instrumental puppeteers – the less well-known but nevertheless hugely influential people behind the scenes.

Julian Knight, Global Cool Chairman and CEO, ranked in the top 30 for environment, behind people like Susan Greenfield, Director of the Royal Institution of Great Britain, and Sir David King, the British Government’s Chief Scientist.

“I am very happy to see the Global Cool initiative recognised in this way and next year through more progression see us break into the top 5,” said Mr Knight.

The 1000: London’s Most Influential People will be in tonight’s Evening Standard.
