Fans of the US TV show 10 Things I Hate About You have taken to Twitter to try and save the show.

Angry viewers have launched a campaign on the social networking site after the show – based on the film of the same name – was axed.

Although the show wasn’t as successful as the film, the opinionated Kat Stratford, played by Lindsey Shaw, had some useful ideas on how to do your bit for the environment – which is one of the reasons fans of the show are trying to save it.

One episode saw Kat running her car on vegetable oil instead of diesel…

Vegetable oil is cheaper than regular fuel, plus you can use recycled parts to create the oil convertor. Find out more here.

In another episode, Kat becomes a flexitarian – swapping meat for vegetables one day a week in order to become more green…

Japanese researchers found that producing 1kg of beef is actually more harmful to the environment than driving your car for three hours while leaving the lights on at home (although we wouldn’t suggest you do that either). There are some useful tips on flexitarianism here.
