Turning your TV completely off rather than leaving it on standby might be a pain in the arse (given that you have to actually get up out of your chair to do it), but it will save you loads of cash and help preserve your TV for longer. As a gentle reminder not to leave your TV on stand by here’s TV turn-off of the week: A TV lowlight that proves that sometimes the only way is not Essex… it’s the OFF button…
Early mornings seemed like a brighter place when we could enjoy a reviving brew while listening to the soothing Irish voice of Christine Bleakley on Daybreak. She’s also an avid cyclist which makes us love her even more. So we were pretty miffed to find out that Christine, along with co-host Adrian Chiles, have been given the boot by ITV and not in the most courteous way we might add. It would seem the duo woke up to headlines telling the world they had gotten the boot, even though they had been promised the chance to leave with dignity in tact.
Frank Lampard‘s girlfriend took to Twitter to vent her frustration saying: “Morning, what a lovely headline to wake up to. My sarcasm comes across in this tweet I hope.” Now ITV has made a statement claiming the presenters are leaving to “focus on peak-time commitments”, but we still think they should have been nicer to Christine, so we’re reaching for the button and turning our TV off!
