Because living like a celeb doesn’t have to cost the Earth…

Kesha and Charlize Theron

Global Cool would like to give a warm welcome to our newest writer Rebecca Sellitti – one of the wittiest and prettiest gals we know. She’ll be bringing you the hottest gossip from the land of celeb each week – enjoy…

Snog
This week, get ready to snog the over-the-top pop star, and notorious fan of the phallus, Ke$ha. But, don’t worry about anyone blogging your snogging. This animal lover doesn’t Kiss N’ Tell!

Anyhow, Ke$ha has once again voiced her concern over the fate of our four-legged friends. The blonde-bombshell tweeted a link to a petition that will serve to “stop the dangerous King Amendment that could wipe out animal protection laws!”

The amendment could possibly undo laws set into place to stop inhumane practices like horse slaughtering, and the operation of puppy mills. Caring for critters comes second nature to Ke$ha. The Tik-Tocker has been a devout vegetarian since the age of 11, worked to provide a safer life for street dogs, given impassioned pleas to stop the practice of shark finning, and back in 2012 was named as The Humane Society’s First Global Ambassador for Animals.

Unfortunately, Ke$ha’s compassion doesn’t extend to humankind. Sadly for us, she says she’s been a practicing Cannibal for years!!

Larry DavidMarry
It looks like you’re going to be walking down the aisle with America’s indisputable quintessential neurotic (excluding myself, of course), ‘cause this week’s most marriage-worthy celeb is none other than Mr. Larry David. The idiosyncratic writer/actor gets SUPER-green points for penning a movie that essentially revolves around electric cars.

The Seinfeld creator wrote and stars in the made-for-TV film Clear History which tells the story of an eccentric advertising-wizard named Flomm (played by David) who is hired by an up-and-coming electric car company to help market their eco-friendly automobile to the general public.

Now, don’t expect a full synopsis of the quirky comedy because the details of the film aren’t particularly important to me. What IS important is that David managed to create a movie that I have no doubt will increase the popularity of electric cars.

David has been giving Mother Earth a helping hand for ages, undoubtedly having been influenced by his now ex-wife, who’s a well-known eco-activist in her own right.  Fortunately, it doesn’t seem the divorce has soured Larry on environmental causes, as evidenced by the fact he still drives himself around Hollywood in a fuel-efficient hybrid car.

And ladies, if you need an additional incentive to watch this comedy, I want to let you know that the genetically-blessed Jon Hamm is also starring in this pic!! I, for one, am Mad about that Man!!

Avoid
Sorry fellas, but I’m going to have to ask that you avoid one of the most icily beautiful women in the world. That’s right, you are to steer clear of the one and only Charlize Theron; for her frequent recreational use of private jets.

Flying for business is one thing, but The Wicked Stepmother made the personal decision to fly her family out of LA on a private plane to celebrate her 38th birthday.  Why is so hard for famous folks to have a simple birthday dinner with their loved ones? Why must they fly across the globe for a week’s worth of parties? I mean, Charlize had already taken a Roman Holiday last weekend to kick-off her birthday festivities. That’s quite a bit of jet-setting for a non-landmark birthday!

Seriously, Ms. Theron. When your 39th rolls around, think about commemorating the occasion like the rest of us plebs: with a tub of ice-cream cake and a jug of wine!!

frankensteinHere comes the science bit…

GC articles show you a few ways (the ones in bold) to live greener…

/ Be a winner (not a binner) /
/ Turn up the style (not the heat) /
/ Love the trend (not the spend) /
/ Do it in public (not the car/plane)/
