So, who is he?
Leonardo DiCaprio started acting from the age of 15, and is now famous for his rolls in some awesome movies such as Catch Me If You Can, Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Revolutionary Road, and Shutter Island.
Impressive. What else do I need to know?
But Leo is famous for more than just his acting. He’s developed a reputation for bagging the hottest girlfriends, and it seems he takes a particular shine to models (well, can you blame him?) The Titanic star has dated Bridget Hall, Helena Christnesen, Amber Valletta, Eva Herzigova, Gisele Bündchen, Bar Refaeli and Blake Lively. Now that’s quite a line up.
So, he’s a cool guy, but why is he a Global Cool guy?
The Blood Diamond hunk is so committed to green causes, he owns a Prius and lives in an eco-friendly condo. He co-wrote, co-produced and narrated the film 11th Hour, which focuses on the problems and solutions of climate change. He refuses to charter private jets, instead choosing to flying commercially, and only when completely necessary. He has also inspired some of Hollywood’s finest, such as Penelope Cruz and Orlando Bloom, to be more eco-friendly. During the filming of the epic movie Inception, DiCaprio encouraged other cast members and production staff to introduce greener behaviours. And with a gaggle of leggy blonde supermodels constantly in tow, he’s obviously doing something right!
