So, who is she?
Her full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, and she has very truthful hips apparently. The Columbian singer is also a clever lady, as she’s fluent in Spanish, English and Portugese, and also speaks Italian, French and Arabic.
Impressive. What else do I need to know?
In 2007, Shakira successfully tricked an entire university campus into not recognising her. She studied a History course for the duration of the summer at an LA uni, and nobody noticed her. Under a fake name and baseball cap, Shakira showed the world that she’s definitely not a diva!
So, she’s a cool girl, but why is she a Global Cool girl?
Shakira really cares about making a difference, and she once donated 10,000 pairs of recycled tennis shoes to poverty stricken children. Her Grandes Exitos album is available to buy with eco-friendly packaging, and she’s a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador too. Shakira also founded Pies Descalzos (The Barefoot Foundation), which helps impoverished children in Columbia. Is there anything this girl can’t do?
