Batman: The Dark Knight Rises
Starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway.

After slinking into the shadows of Gotham and hanging up his cape, we find Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) largely changed from his role in the past. Harvey Dent died as a hero, but as a consequence Batman has became the enemy of the city. Now with the psychotic and evil Bane planning to destroy Gotham, Batman must bury his demons and don the suit once more.

They say good things come in threes, and Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy is the epitome of this saying. All the movies are amazing in their own way, and The Dark Knight Rises is a heart-wrenching climax of events and kick-ass fight scenes that doesn’t disappoint.

The performances in this film equally impressive with a multitude of talented actors in an array of leather outfits. Baring much similarity to the cast of Inception, expect some great performances from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy and Morgan Freeman. Also get ready for a new favorite spunky and sexy female lead in the shape of Anne Hathaway, blowing her cutesy persona right out of the water with this dark portrayal of Cat Woman.

As all self-confessed film geeks will know, there are not many plots that can keep you guessing. With The Dark Knight Rises, a few of the narrative strands are guessable, however, just as with Inception, those last few seconds of the film are a monumental revelation.

As there are a limited amount of things I can say about this film without revealing the plot, I will leave this review with one little spoiler – this is definitely not the last you will see of Christopher Nolan’s romance with Gotham City.
