Because bad TV shouldn’t cost the Earth…
It’s no mystery why funny man Jimmy Carr is in the bad books with the public at the moment. Regardless of whether it was legal or not, getting away with paying 1% tax (especially when you’re earning as much as he does) just doesn’t sit right with us.
But it seem’s Carr’s tax scandal actually gave his show 8 Out Of 10 Cats a ratings boost at the weekend as we saw viewing figures double in a week. Over 2.7million people tuned in to watch which is the highest figure the show has seen in two years!
The rise in viewers could be accounted to the fact everyone wanted to see Jim get a bit rinsed by his fellow hosts. Sean Locke didn’t let us down, quipping:
“We all like to put a bit of money away for a rainy day, don’t we? But I think you’re more prepared than Noah.”
Later he joked “We can all see now why you work so hard… you get to keep all the money!”
Jimmy responded saying: “In my defence… I’ve got nothing”. Nothing? We’re pretty sure anyone taking a peek at that off-shore account in Jersey would beg to differ.
Check out all that was said now…
Here comes the science bit…
All Global Cool articles highlight one of four ways (the one in bold below) to start living greener. Click the links to find out more…
1. Be a winner, not a binner (aka recycling and reusing stuff)
2. Turn up the style, not the heat (aka not charging electrical devices 24/7)
3. Love the trend, not the spend (aka buying stuff that doesn’t harm the planet)
4. Do it in public (aka ditching the car and plane when you can)
