Because festival season doesn’t have to cost the Earth…
This summer we’ll once again be helping you find the easiest ways to Do It In Public on the festival circuit, ditching the car and taking public transport instead for the ultimate festival experience. And even if you’re not going to be able to make it to the festival, at least you can still enjoy the music on your way to (sigh) work. And July 18 can only mean one thing… Latitude Festival…
We’re pretty excited about this weekend, and not just because of the promise of more great weather. It’s Latitude Festival and Global Cool are packing up our things, pulling out our denim cutoffs and heading down to Suffolk to join in the festivities. The line up is pretty sweet too including Alt J, The Maccabees and Foals, and we’ll be making sure to have a boogie in between ciders.
Coming to the festival by coach or train is the easiest way to get to Latitude – it’s kind on the planet, your pocket and your patience!
And luckily for you London Liverpool Street to Diss Station by train takes just 1 ½ hours plus just under an hour by connecting Festival bus.
London Victoria Station by coach takes 3 hours and gets you straight to the festival site with no changes at all so you can booze/snooze for the whole journey!
Travel light tip
There will be bike racks in the Day Car Park on site. For a ride with a bit extra, why not travel first class by bike with Tour de Latitude proudly supported by M&S?
This initiative was started by Latitude and M&S in 2012 to encourage festival goers to cycle to the festival, whilst doing something nice for charity.
This year the Tour de Latitude will be raising vital funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, helping them in their life-saving work supporting seriously ill children and their families from across the UK.
The route will be sign posted, with mechanics, cycle guides, emergency response, and M&S refreshments every step of the way. Cyclists’ baggage will be transported separately and cyclists will have their bikes securely stored at the festival on arrival.
During the ride there will be frequent rest stops for participants to have a break with full facilities, along with food and refreshments courtesy of M&S. Upon arrival at the festival cyclists will be greeted by a welcome team and will receive a Guest upgrade to their ticket, allowing them to enjoy access to Guest campsite and facilities to make the weekend even more special!
