We found this amusing train photo and thought to ourselves, what better excuse for getting off our arses and pulling together all the best reasons for taking a Traincation. After all, the summer was a real bummer and if you’re anything like us you’ll already be thinking about your winter holidays. So get off your butts and get booking your Traincation.
Still not convinced? Here’s our ten most viewed Traincation posts to help you get to the bottom of it…

Wow, a post objectifying women to promote train travel. What a progressive website! What a load of superficial consumerist claptrap.
If you really want to do something positive: buy less stuff, eat less meat, catch public transport (at least we agree on that), and join your local climate action group. Protest. Lobby politicians. Encourage others in your community to join in.
The lifestyle championed on this website is unsustainable, no matter how much you greenwash it, so it’s going to end one way or another. The only question is whether we are ready to genuinely choose a better way to live, or whether we destroy ourselves in the continued denial of reality.
Hi Jane,
Thanks for your comment. Some of our content may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s intended to engage an audience who research has shown are not interested in doing things like joining climate action groups, protesting and lobbying politicians.
Our approach is very different from a lot of other environmental organisations and we know that won’t necessarily work for everybody, but our work draws on 30 years of market research that shows how behaviours and attitudes are rapidly normalised across the population.
Our objectives and approach are all laid out in detail over on our Foundation website… http://globalcoolfoundation.org/global-cool/objectives-approach/
Earlier this year we published a detailed report on the impact of our work, which can be downloaded here… http://globalcoolfoundation.org/global-cool/results/
Thanks,
Global Cool
