As part of our Do It In Public campaign, Global Cool brings you our guide to the best summer festivals, including how to get there and back without having to dig your car out of a field that looks like northern France circa 1918. Continuing today with Field Day…
Who
French hipsters Phoenix are this year’s main stage headliners, and they’re a terrific live band who play cool indie-pop, perfect for a summer’s evening. Further down the bill, we’d recommend Lightspeed Champion, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Egyptian Hip Hop and Gold Panda.
What
Field Day’s the smallest of our festival picks, as befits an inner-city festival. On the same site as Lovebox, Field Day is a single day affair, and crams tons of great alternative acts into its line-up.
When
31 July, 2010
Where
Victoria Park, London
Why
Get in the mood for Field Day with a taste of Phoenix and Too Young, a single from their first album…
How
Being in central London, it’s all about the Tube, bus or train for Field Day. Watch out for those pesky engineering works and check here for the Transport for London website. Nearest stations are Mile End and Hackney Wick. If you’re coming from further afield use the journey planner below…
