Because looking like a celeb shouldn’t cost the Earth…

Jessica Ennis

By Briony Samuel

Jessica Ennis stole the nation’s hearts during the London 2012 Olympics, where she won a gold medal in the women’s heptathlon. However, not content with just being the UK’s golden girl, Jessica stole the show as lady in red at the Sports Personality of the Year Awards on Sunday.

She may have come second at the awards, but she was undoubtedly the winner in the style stakes, showing off her figure in this stunning floor-length red dress. We loved her look so much that we’ve found some ways to emulate it without being left red-handed for crimes against the planet…

Red Dresses

To recreate Jessica’s look, try this Dip Hem dress (above centre), which has an on-trend asymmetric hemline, and team it with a vintage black belt to add interest and structure.

Alternatively, we love this Vintage Red Drape dress (above left), which features a cute print with a 70′s vibe, and a nipped-in waist to create an hourglass figure! If you’re feeling a little  more daring, try this Backless Bodycon dress (above right). It’s great for the party season, and the super-flattering fit is sure to turn heads!

To finish off the look, add some low-key jewellery like Jess’s pendant necklace. ASOS Marketplace have a great range of vintage pieces, such as this Gold Rose necklace, which will perfectly compliment your red dress. Just remember not to go overboard on the bling – you want the dress to do the talking!

Here’s Jess showing off her gold medal earlier in the year on the Graham Norton Show…

GC articles show you one of four ways (the one in bold) to live greener…

/ Be a winner (not a binner) /
/ Turn up the style (not the heat) /
/ Love the trend (not the spend) /

Do it in public (not the car/plane) /
