Because looking awesome doesn’t have to cost the Earth…

Indie fashion is one of our favourite looks for this season as it’s fun, versatile and quick to throw together in the moring. We’ve found the best bits of indie fashion so you can revamp your look this winter…

Firstly, no indie fashion guru would neglect to own a big slouchy retro jumper like this one from ASOS Marketplace (above left). Perfect to throw on over skinny jeans to keep you cosy, whilst not compromising on style.

In contrast, we also love pretty floral dresses in indie fashion. This Vintage Floral Button Dress (above right) will add a girly look to an autumn look, but keep it cool by adding a leather jacket, some thick tights and a pair of creepers.

Not 100% sure what creepers are? Just check out the middle picture above. Creepers were a popular punk look back in the day but now are a staple of indie fashion. We love these turquise ones as they’re a little bit more unique than the standard black or white versions.

Just because festival season is over for another year (sob) it doesn’t mean you have to lose your festival style. Headbands look great all year round and are an indie girls ticket to jazzing up hair between washes. We like the doubled up look of these thin bands (above centre) which are perfectly complimented by a centre parting and messy waves.

When it comes to cardigans, think big, bold and oversized. We heart this Mohair Rainbow Cardigan from ASOS Marketplace (above left) for adding a funky look to an outfit or just throwing on at home to keep warm.

Finally, no indie fashion guide would be complete witout inculding a bit of acid wash denim. Whether it’s jeans, coats, waistcoats or a cut off waistcoat, make sure you have at least one item hanging in your wardrobe. Our personal fave is an acid wash denim jacket  like this vintage find (above right). Layer a few warm things underneath to keep the cold away and voila: you are an indie fashion queen!
