Because looking good doesn’t have to cost the Earth…
Lana Del Rey showcased her very enviable figure at Latitude Festival last weekend. If you remember the ever popular stretch lace dresses of last year, you’ll be pleased to hear that this season’s version is much more forgiving.
Staying on trend, Lana’s dress has a fuller skirt and a nipped in waist. The fabric also has a much more vintage feel than last season. Luckily eco-luxe designer Minna have all your vintage lace needs covered with their stunning collection…
This Johanna Dress from Fashioning Change (above left) is both eco and ethical. The pretty lace shift dress has short sleeves and gorgeous vintage lace embellishment at the front. Each one is made from upcycled lace so is completely unique. We adore the big sash bow waist deatiling too. This dress is locally-made in the UK with vintage lace trimmings.
Or get a bit more summery in the Emilia Dress also from Fashioning Change (above centre). It’s incerdibly flattering with a fitted bodice (to suck you in) and a full tulip-shaped skirt (to give you some shape). This dress has been hand stitched from silk chiffon and UK-made lace which are were also recycled fabrics too.
Lastly, this lovely Scottish and Vintage Lace Tunic from Fashion Conscience (above right) is sure to get hearts racing. The delicate design is made from very fine Scottish lace with vintage lace decoration at the front. There’s even an adorable flower on the waist band too!
Here comes the science bit…
All Global Cool articles highlight one of four ways (the one in bold below) to start living greener. Click the links to find out more…
1. Be a winner, not a binner (aka recycling and reusing stuff)
2. Turn up the style, not the heat (aka not leaving your lights on 24/7)
3. Love the trend, not the spend (aka buying stuff that doesn’t harm the planet)
4. Do it in public (aka ditching the car and plane when you can)
