Following on from last week’s One Day handout at train stations around the UK, this week we giving away free copies of Jojo Moyes’ excellent novel Silver Bay at Kings Cross on Thursday July 22nd as part of Books In Public.
If you’ve read the book we’d love to know what you think (in the comments below or on Twitter using the hashtag #booksinpublic).
Here’s what we thought…
Silver Bay is the fifth novel by British writer Jojo Moyes (or @jojomoyes as she’s known on Twitter). Moyes is well known for her award winning and popular romantic books.
Set in a small seaside town in Australia, Silver Bay follows businessman Mike Dormer as he goes on a journey of both romantic and professional discovery.
As ever with Moyes’ books, the plot is both intriguing and unpredictable. What better way to get lost in another world while on a train or bus journey?

I got one of the books from Kings Cross! Looking forward to reading it. Thnaks! great idea to hand them out
Great book. Not my normal kind but my wife had it on holiday and I was all out so I ended up reading it. Have to say I really enjoyed and it and it wasn’t as predictable as I was expecting – just goes to show you can’t judge books by their cover!
I prefer some of her other books but this still worth reading she a great writer. The Ship Of Brides was better tho
I really enjoyed Silver Bay quite a lot.
I want to say that what made me pick up
the book was the image of the girl
and mother on the dock on the cover.
this image was very compelling for me, where
the cover with the girl with the angel wing
does nothing for me
same for the book Night Music, the image of the woman by
the curtains wearing a blue robe is life-less and not
inspiring.
cover images are critical, please pass this to who
makes these marketing decisions….
