Some say that it’s hard to talk to people on public transport, so through my friendship with Global Cool, I set out to motion a new notion! It kicks off here: when I attended Global Cool’s Art of Conversation lecture on a Routemaster bus, which gave tips on how to chat to the public in order to make even the shortest of journeys more enjoyable. The lecture was held on a restored Routemaster bus; and as the games were played and tounges got wagging, I got to thinking… why don’t we talk to strangers? I filmed the event, so check it out to get some tips on how to have a communicative commute!
So as you can see, if we practise the Art of Conversation, we can all be artists. I got inspired by the notion of breaking down boundaries and finding ways to enjoy public transport, and (besides the fact that it’s cheap and green), that’s the only extra encouragement we need! I thought I’d jump on a London bus and ask some fellow passengers what their opinion of talking to strangers is. Watch me interview strangers on the bus and ask them how open they are to random conversations… if they don’t have time to run away!
