Because online shopping doesn’t have to cost the Earth…

We’re always on the look out for new companies to fall in love with. So you can imagine our delight when we were introduced to Swags World – a brand new ethical shopping site where women can buy products made by artisians from far-flung places as East Timor and Bali, and trace their purchase right back to the individual who made it.

Swags World (Simply Women and Girls in a Sustainable World) is an online store offering unique products created by artisans in small, creative communities. They work with these talented artisans to co-create beautiful goods that carry the hopes and dreams of the hands who made them. By aiming for complete transparency in the full life cycle of the products they sell, Swags World hope to create sustainable livelihoods for these communities, for now and for the future.

And we LOVE their beautiful handmade Christmas tree decorations (above) – perfect for getting in the festive spirit. The artisans of the Bonecas de Atauro collective spent two months creating these unique decorations, embracing the joy and spirit of Christmas in their small island community.

Each creation is entirely handmade with love and completely unique, so you know your tree will stand out from the crowd.

And because we have been getting Chrismassy all day, here’s Frank Sinatra with Let It Snow

GC articles show you one of four ways (the one in bold) to live greener…

/ Be a winner (not a binner) /
/ Turn up the style (not the heat) /
/ Love the trend (not the spend) /
/
Do it in public (not the car/plane) /
