As if you didn’t need another reason to Do It In Public, here’s a romantic one that feels as if it’s straight out of a Hugh Grant film (that’s strictly the fictional, likeable bumbling-idiot version of Hugh; not the real life version that paid $50 for some, er, late night “entertainment”).
The romantic tale begins on the London Underground. Five years ago, Will Gull, a tax inspector, handed now-wife Kate Crammer a note when he spotted her on the tube. Now, you might not think of South Woodford on the Central Line as being the most romantic place in the world, but it certainly turned out to be for this couple. When Will gave Kate a note saying “I think you are beautiful – from Will” along with his mobile number, she replied: “You’re not so bad yourself – from Katie” and scribbled her number down as well. After meeting for drinks and five years of happiness, Will proposed to Kate at the same station as onlookers and staff cheered at her acceptance.
I think we can all agree that none of us are going to meet our soul-mates driving alone around London (or anywhere for that matter) and maybe we should hop on the train to find love.
