We’ve been banging on about Doing It In Public for ages, but now there’s an even better reason to get on public transport…
The No Pants Subway Ride is annual event that takes place every January. It started with Improv Everywhere in New York, and has spread across the glove. The idea is to randomly board the subway/tube/metro/etc in the middle of winter minus your trousers. The result is pretty bizarre as the participants are all in winter coats, hats, scarves and gloves, but with nothing but a pair of pants to conceal their modesty. Even London was involved this year, and you can see how they reacted in this video…
Here comes the science bit…

1. Using public transport rather than the car.
2. Entertain yourself on public transport with e-books or games (or taking off your trousers if it’s January)
