Because getting around shouldn’t cost the Earth…
Love cycling but hate getting lost? Finally cycling routes have made it onto Googlemaps…
If you’re a cyclist you’ve probably faced the frustration of having to switch between walking and driving routes while trying to safely navigate your way on the back of a bicycle. Those days are over thanks to Sustrans and Google, as they’ve added cycling directions to the Maps app.
These routes are said to be easier for cyclists as they avoid hills and very busy roads where possible. There are a few glitches with the app (one guy even said it led him through a few fences along the way) but with Google constantly encouraging users to send feedback we’re confident it will all smooth out.
And if you’re not convinced, check out this lovely little video about how to turn this app into an amazing romantic gesture…
Here comes the science bit…
All Global Cool articles highlight one of four ways (the one in bold below) to start living greener. Click the links to find out more…
1. Be a winner, not a binner (aka recycling and reusing stuff)
2. Turn up the style, not the heat (aka not leaving your lights on 24/7)
3. Love the trend, not the spend (aka buying stuff that doesn’t harm the planet)
4. Do it in public (aka ditching the car and plane when you can)
