Big Ben Solar Panels

We still remember the first day we took a bus over Westminster Bridge in London and clapped eyes the Big Ben. We think it’s pretty awesome. And  judging by the gaggle of tourists congregating there every single day, other people seem to agree.

So you can imagine our delight when we found out that the world’s most famous clock is having a green makeover. Parliament is thinking about adding solar panels to the face of Big Ben and to the flat roofs of the Houses of Parliament. Apparently using solar power could actually save 22 power stations worth of electricity!

Times are a-changing, and we think that’s pretty darn cool.

And here’s some of our fave London landmarks, because we really are just cockney sparrows at heart…

GC articles show you one of four ways (the one in bold) to live greener…

/ Be a winner (not a binner) /
/ Turn up the style (not the heat) /
/ Love the trend (not the spend) /
/
Do it in public (not the car/plane) /
