Global Cool’s third Art of Conversation lecture took place on a London Routemaster bus last night. This week’s theme was the Diverse Communities of London.
Storytelling expert Alex Somerville told a packed bus that the top tips for chatting to strangers from different backgrounds to you are:
1. Be willing to share things about yourself, it’s essential to the Art of Conversation
2. A very simple invitation can produce results, don’t make it too complicated
3. Practice being a good listener
4. Be expressive. It helps to build bridges
5. Trust that people will be interested in you
