Mankind is currently emitting 26.5 billion tonnes of CO2 per year, rising three quarters of a billion tonnes every year. We aim to bring this down by at least one billion tonnes a year - with the aim of raising that to 10 billion tonnes a year within a decade.
We know, and we hope you have just found out, how easy it is to shed one tonne of CO2. Hopefully in time you'll be able to shift a few more tonnes, which will in turn bring us much closer to our goal.
So, to put it in simplistic terms, if 300 million people globally cut back their CO2 emissions by just over three tonnes, then we've reached our goal. In fact there are countless permutations of how we can reach our target, although the more people on board the better.
