News / Jerry Springer lashes out
Jerry Springer is living proof that man can have a devastating effect on his environment. He's spent the last 19 years goading, baiting and shocking audiences around the world with salacious conflicts and sordid stories, but it seems that the battle-hardened Springer has a new final message.
In an interview with
Mother Nature Network, Jerry flexed his green credo, telling his interviewer about his firm belief in mankind's responsibility for the planet -- and his hopes that we can change it.
"Global warming is real, the question is what can we do as a society," he said. "It is folly to believe there is no such thing as global warming. Sure, there's cyclical stuff out there, but I think we're quickening the pace."
Springer also detailed his thoughts on eco-living, in particular the need to slow down the endless march of producing needless goods for people that don't need them.
"It's not just 'how do you clear up the environment,' it's about how you change our view of life and how we want to live: to get people to say, 'you know what, I want this, but I don't really need it.'"
So after the mayorship, the TV show and the opera, are we about to see another rebirth of Springer? His ability to reach out to the public will please many green-minded souls: just as long as he's not chairing the next public debate...
