An ink-redible traincation!

How far would you go to win a train holiday? It’s a question that’s been rocking Australia after a security guard went the extra mile for his parents to get them the dream trip they’ve always wanted.

Grant Burton, 30, from Melbourne, spent £100 having the company logo of Dutch rail firm Eurail tattooed across his back in six-inch high letters. The Utrecht-based company were over the moon with the results and offered Burton a four-person rail pass to explore 21 European countries.

Giving two of the golden tickets away to his retired parents as a 40th wedding anniversary gift, Grant told reporters that it was a small price to pay back his parents for the care they took in raising him and his five siblings.

“I’ve got other tattoos, not as big as the Eurail, and I like it,” Grant told the Daily Mail. “Mum and dad aren’t so keen though but they think it’s all in a good cause.”

Burton managed to convince Eurail of his seriousness after contacting the company to tell them he’d collected 5000 Facebook friends who all believed in his cause. He only asked for rail passes for his mum and dad — but Eurail were so happy with the results they added another pair of passes for Grant and a friend too.
