So, the World Cup is but a distant memory and it’s time to get back to the bread and butter. The new Premier League football season begins this weekend and here at Global Cool we can’t wait.
The one thing we’re not planning on doing this season is spending five hours sitting in a traffic jam on the M1 listening to Alan Green whinge on 606.
Instead, the football fans amongst us will be Doing It In Public, travelling to and from games on public transport with nothing but the matchday programme and the latest fascinating, ahem, Wayne Rooney autobiography to cheer us up after yet another dismal performance (our clubs of choice include Bolton, Aston Villa and Newcastle so this is a common theme of travelling home from matches).
We’d encourage you to do the same, you may even bump in to some fellow fans and get the chance to practice the Art of Conversation with them. It’s got to be better than listening to Alan Green do all the talking.
Even last season’s Premier League champions Chelsea like to ride on a bus (see picture). OK, so when they’ve not got a big pot to show off they’re poncing around in their sports cars most of the time, but hey, if we copied John Terry’s behaviour all the time then driving a car would be the least of our sins.
If you’re feeling like you’re not quite in the mood for it, here’s a little reminder of what happened last time round from Sky to get you in the mood…
