Top of the class this week in the School of Cool is Lance Armstrong…
So who is he?
Cycling legend Lance Armstrong has won the Tour de France a record breaking seven times.
Impressive. What else do I need to know?
After beating cancer himself, he set up his own charity, the Lance Armstrong Foundation to help those affected by cancer.
So he’s a cool guy, but why is he a Global Cool guy?
Not only is he cool because of his love of cycling, but after years of riding behind cars and inhaling their fumes Lance is also a supporter of electric cars. He recently became a recipient and spokesman of the Nissan LEAF, a newly developed electric car due for general release in the US at the end of 2010.
The Lance Armstrong Foundation also offers free retreats to young adult cancer survivors at an eco-friendly wellness centre.
