Gone are the days when celebrities such as Cameron Diaz and Leonardo DiCaprio were the only ones who wanted to drive electric cars.
Thanks to the growing numbers of electric car owners, a prototype of a portable car charger has been invented.
The idea behind the charger is to eliminate “range anxiety” and allow those in electric cars to travel just as far as those in petrol or diesel cars.
The invention by Zafer Sahinoglu will be used in the US to charge cars by the roadside. Here in the UK, a “Plugged-In Places” scheme has been announced. This involves charging hubs being built in public places, enabling electric car drivers to charge their cars if needed.
The first three Plugged-In Places were in Milton Keynes, London and the north east.
