Nike released their new advert for the World Cup last week to much excitement. The full length version of the new ad – starring Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba, Cristiano Ronaldo and many more – has already received more than six million views on You Tube, with many proclaiming it the greatest football advert ever.
All of which goes to prove Global Cool’s theory that the only football teams to support these days are the ones wearing Nike kits.
Not only do they make the best adverts, Nike also make the most environmentally-friendly kits. The nine countries whose kits are made by Nike at this summer’s World Cup in South Africa will all be sporting strips made from organic cotton, ‘green’ rubber and other recycled materials.
Nike have also asserted their commitment to provide suitable working conditions for those making the kits.
The only downside is that of the nine Nike-manufactured kits, one of them belongs to Australia… but fear not, that still leaves Brazil, Holland, South Korea, New Zealand, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia and, er, the USA.
