Hi, and welcome to the Global Cool blog and our newly launched site. To kick off, I’ll give you a quick run down of who we are, why we do what we do, what we’re getting up to in the near future and that sort of stuff.
To start, who are we? We’re a charity that wants to inspire you to help save our beautiful planet through by showing you how to reduce your carbon footprint. We’ve worked with a wide range of celebrities and high profile personalities to help spread our word, from Josh Hartnett to Stephen Fry. We plan to keep moving down this track, working with interesting and awesome people on some amazing projects.
So, we’re two years young and so far: we’ve hosted a ‘green’ Golden Globes pre awards in LA, been at to various music festival, including Fuji Rock (Japan), T in The Park, The Big Chill, streamed a live Scissor Sisters gig at Brixton Academy, held a reception at No.10 Downing St, attended by (then Prime Minister) Tony Blair, as well as some of our supporters, Cartier made us the beneficiary of a Global Cool dedicated Love Bracelet and we produced the first ‘green’ International Indian Film Awards (IIFAs). Phew!
For future we’re planning loads more cool projects like these to keep showing you that we all need to reduce our carbon footprint and it can be fun!
This blog isn’t going to be our news section, it’s going to show what we’re getting up to on a regular basis, how we’re doing what we’re doing and hopefully help us connect with you guys. We’re really looking forward to the next few months and beyond. So, leave us a comment, sign up to the site, enter our competitions and help save the planet!
You can find out loads more information about what and who we are on our about us page. Obviously, if you’ve got questions and queries you can drop us an email.
