We went metal and wore black at Download, hung out with the London scenesters at Wireless, gazed in wonder at the fancy dress costumes at T In The Park and then finally, with an enormously happy smile, wrapped up our fourth and final festival of the summer at V last night.

The Global Cool bus is now so covered in signatures it’s barely recognizable from the clean, mean, public transport machine that rolled onto Download’s green grass over two months ago – but don’t worry, it’s still fit for purpose.  We’ve welcomed over 9000 people to the Global Cool online family and pretty much most of them signed the bus as Global Cool encouraged everyone to Do It In Public.

All summer we’ve been showing people how much more fun you can have if you let someone else do the driving and travel by public transport, and our giant Jenga and Connect4, guitars and Lego, hammocks & deckchairs, Bluetooth and t-shirt giveaways, an iPod full of your ultimate travel playlist and of course our super-cool bus, showed what you can do when you leave the car behind.

Over 50 artists and celebrities have been telling us their cool and funny journey stories, all of which are on globalcool.org and our YouTube channel, and we’ve still got loads of natty signed Global Cool T-shirts to give away, so watch out for those competitions soon.

At V this weekend we spoke to some of the biggest names around – Paolo Nutini, Keane, James Morrison, Mr. Hudson, Athlete, Jet, The Wombats, McFly, Dermot O’Leary and many more – all of whom joined the likes of Elbow, Trivium, Daniel Merriweather, Enter Shikari and Florence & The Machine who had already shared their thoughts on the beauty of busses and trains with us.

Global Cool was at the V Chelmsford site (so, alas, we didn’t get to see Oasis after their late cancellation), but we landed on our feet with the weather and on Saturday, the Global Cool bus hosted a Ladies’ Hour, giving the girls somewhere to chill out on what turned out to be one of the sunniest weekends of the summer.  At all of the festivals, we’ve met dozens of festival-goers and chatted to some of you about your fun journey experiences, so visit our Facebook page and tag yourself in the pictures we’ve posted up.

So all that remains is to say a massive thanks to everyone who came to see Global Cool at a festival this summer and added your signature to the bus or signed up to join us.
