Because your big day shouldn’t cost the Earth…
By Rose Munday
It may not be the usual way to get to your wedding reception, but Aileen and Malcolm McConnell have proved you don’t need to splash the cash to have a wedding to remember.
Commuters on the Glasgow subway certainly won’t be forgetting the sight they saw this Saturday when the newly weds hopped aboard the tube, rather than taking a flashier form of transport. And the couple weren’t alone in their not-so-glamorous commute as their 40 wedding guests decided to ditch the gas-guzzling limos and Lamborghinis to join them on their journey to a city centre bar.
So would you consider giving your big white wedding a big green twist? Only time will tell whether this economical green and clean trend will sweep brides and grooms off their feet round the country… Maybe not at rush hour though!
Here comes the science bit…
GC articles show you one of four ways (the one in bold) to live greener…
/ Be a winner (not a binner) /
/ Turn up the style (not the heat) /
/ Love the trend (not the spend) /
/ Do it in public (not the car/plane) /
