This week we’re travelling all the way to pretty Florence for a sophisticated cooking Traincation…
What’s all the fuss?
Tuscany is a great place for a long weekend of great cooking and fine wines, and Tasting Places has the perfect package. You are given the chance to learn how to cook and more importantly how to taste things properly. For the weekend the company mix up cooking classes with shopping in the bustling local markets, as well as designer outlets like Prada. They offer you hands on lessons on how to prepare the famous Italian feasts leaving you with lots of treats to bring home with you.
There will also be a chance to take a trip to San Giovanni Val D’Arno street market, to let you stock up on the delicious local pecorino, fresh parmesan, Tuscan wines and all manner of delicacies.
Your day will begin in Florence with coffee and a truffle Panini, and then a serious morning’s shopping in Via Tournabuorni. After this you will be given a choice of where to go for lunch – Cantinetta Antinori (pictured), Harry’s Bar, Cibreo or Enoteca Pinchiorri – and we’re warning you now, they’re all so good it will be hard to pick! On the way back you can take a visit to the Gucci and Giordi Armani outlets for a spot of shopping. The day is finished with classes on antipasti, pastas and risottos, then back at Fattoria Montelucci and an excellent dinner with delicious wines.
Getting there
The best way to get there is to catch the Eurostar from London to Paris. Then jump on the high speed TGV train from Paris to Milan. Then from Milan catch the Italian Frecciarossa high speed trains to whisk you from Milan to Florence. Enjoy your trip filled with cooking and shopping!
Here comes the science bit…
