The sky literally is the limit with our selection of the best adventure hotspots. We’ve found something for anybody who loves to feel the wind in their hair. As part of our Do It In Public campaign, we’ve found the best adventure activities that you can reach by public transport from around the UK, just use the journey planner at the bottom of the page to plan your trip…

Middlesbrough
This city is the only place in the UK where you can bungee jump off a bridge. Climb the 200ft up the Transporter Bridge and it’s just a case of you conquering your fear and jumping.

Kendal, Lake District
Mountain biking through the Cumbrian countryside starting in Kendal, you have the world at your wheels (well, the Lake District anyway). This area is popular for all things outdoors so if mountain biking isn’t your style, you could try fell walking or canoeing instead.

Snowdonia, Wales
Fell running takes running to another level, literally. Running over mountains and varied terrain takes a bit more skill than your average run in the park as the challenge is to stay on your feet while navigating through the mountains.

Northampton
A combination of water, speed and navigation makes whitewater rafting an exhilarating experience. This course, although man made, is still a level three out of five so be prepared to get thrown around a fair bit. There are other whitewater rafting experiences around the UK.
